Registration

Course Registration, Prerequisite, and Chair's Override:

Students can register themselves for most classes (registration instructions). If you cannot register and/or need help, please come to Hany Makhlouf Academic Center for in-person assistance. For technical issues, you may also call UDC Technical Support at 202-274-5941 (browser issues, system errors, etc.).

Only Department Chairs and Deans have the system registration authority, and can register students for classes. Faculty Advisors do not have the registration authority, and can only remove the Advising Hold.

Therefore, for any prerequisite overrides (Chair's Override), to get into a closed class, and/or to register for the final capstone course (BGMT-419 – undergraduate, or BGMT-529 – graduate), students need to submit the following brief e-mail request:

Part 1 – Student / request to register for a particular class(es), the student must:

e-mail the Advising Center at sbpamgt@udc.edu the following information:

Subject: Registration Request

(addressed to the Dean of the School of Business and Public Administration)

1. Student’s Name & N#.

2. Semester & Year.

3. Course Name, Number, Section, and CRN of the class(es).

4. Fully completed attached Course Guide (visit Advising Center for help if missing)

5. Student’s brief e-mail statement explaining why, and supporting evidence if applicable.

Part 2 – Department Chair

Approves or Disapproves the request. If approved:

1) Registers the student for the course(s).

2) E-mails the Advising Center at sbpamgt@udc.edu.

Part 3 – SBPA Advising Center

E-mails the student of the registration approval (or reason for disapproval).
